ESCAP joins international partnerships on social protection
In line with ESCAP’s commitment to promoting inclusive social protection in Asia and the Pacific, including its advocacy for universal social protection along the social protection floor, ESCAP has officially joined the Social Protection Inter-agency Cooperation Board (SPIAC-B) and the Global Partnership for Universal Social Protection to Achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (USP 2030). SPIAC-B is an interagency coordination mechanism to enhance global coordination and advocacy on social protection issues, as well as coordinate international cooperation at the country level. USP 2030 is a partnership that aims to increase the number of countries that achieve universal social protection through advocacy, knowledge development and joint support to countries. ESCAP’s engagement with both entities will create new avenues to contribute regional perspectives from the Asia-Pacific region to the global discourse on social protection.
