Ministerial Conference on Public-Private Partnerships for Infrastructure Development, Second Session
The State Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (BAPPENAS), the Government of Indonesia, organized and hosted the “Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Public-Private Partnerships for Infrastructure Development” in Jakarta on 17 April 2010. H.E. Mr. M. Hatta Rajasa, Coordinating Minister, Ministry of Economic Affairs, opened the Conference and Dr. Noeleen Heyzer, United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), delivered a welcome address.
The Ministerial Conference adopted the Jakarta Declaration on Public-Private Partnerships for Infrastructure Development in Asia and the Pacific.
"In the three days preceding the Ministerial Conference, the State Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (BAPPENAS), Government of Indonesia, hosted the “Infrastructure Asia 2010 Conference and Exhibition” which was organised by PT Infrastructure Asia. H.E. Mr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, President of Indonesia, opened the Infrastructure Conference and an opening statement was also delivered by Dr. Noeleen Heyzer."
Both events were organized with the full support of ESCAP, the World Bank (WB) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The conferences were attended by the President of Indonesia, a Vice-President from the Islamic Republic of Iran, twenty-six ministers and ten vice-ministers and government officials from 23 member countries of ESCAP, representatives of the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and other donors and funding agencies, and the private sector.
There were 1,300 registered delegates at the conferences. The grand infrastructure exhibition drew 129 exhibitors including MEC Holdings, General Electric, Intel Corporation, Mitsubishi Corporation, Lovells LLP, Hitachi, Grundfos, PT. Jasa Marga, Mitsui Co. Ltd., Nokia Siemens Networks, Sumitomo Corporation, Total Indonesie, PT. Trakindo Utama, PT. Wijaya Karya, Doosan Engineering & Co., and Siemens Indonesia who displayed their products and publicized their services on a 10,000 sqm. exhibition space.
